Default FZ8 Windscreens from PUIG... help me choose

Help me decide on a Windscreen for the bike...

Windscreens for motorbikes For the bike model Yamaha FZ8 2011 | Puig

New Generation model
One on the left is an exact fit for FZ8 (shown on FZ8).
- Said by manufacturer to go with the lines \ look of the bike while offering additional wind protection.
- Mounts to the instrument panel, not the handlebars, therefore provides a more compact look as if it belongs as part of the original design of the bike.

Rafale model
One on the right is a universal fit (shown on a Kawasaki), attaches to handlebars and offers about 2.5 inches more coverage, although I believe that is split somewhat since part of that increase will be below the instrument panel since its attached at the center of the vertical measurement.
- Said by manufacturer to offer the best wind protection compared to the other one.

I want the most wind protection but not at the cost of making the bike look too out of place.

Does anyone think the universal fit Rafale model will look good on my bike without looking too big?

Thanks...

Just my 2 cents, don't like either. I bought a naked bike for a reason.
I have no problem hanging on and have never found the wind to be a problem. Had nakeds all my life.

I agree with Hoover. For a naked bike, the FZ8 does a surprisingly good job of wind management. Apparently the goofy cartoonish looking headlight shape and the little deflector on top are actually pretty effective at directing the air relatively smoothly. My FZ8 buffets me less at speed than some tour bikes I've ridden.

Besides, both of those windshields are oooooooooooooooglyyyyyyyy!

Honestly I get it... Everyone is entitled to their opinions... But really... Ugly? I think at least it shows some character rather than a simple half moon bubble that you find on most sport bikes much like the factory one from yamaha. I don't see how these unique designs don't capture more favoritism, adding extra cool looks to the bike's already cool looks. Again, as they say to each his own... Or something like that.

As for the bike handling wind direction on its own... Not sure how anyone can say that. Driving on the highway at speed can be brutal. Maybe its new to me. Maybe you guys are just used to it. But having some shield has got to be better than none.

Thanks for the replies.

Naked bikes are just not ment to have these (except for the Speed triple that's ugly without the winscreen over the bug eyes). When you want wind protection you get a Fazer instead

You do get used to it. It is just a question of riding technique. I grip with my knees and ride with my arms away from my body which lets the wind through. One of the reasons I love my Renthals is they alow me to do this easier than the stock ones.
Then again, I don't ride for hours on end on the highway, I always find back roads.

The previous version looked good even without the windscreen...but the last version, they shouldnt even sell the bike without it. (But of course its a 300$ piece of plastic so thats why its not standard!)

Yeah my bro has an Fz6 and this summer we went on a trip riding like 6-700km a day. We exchanged bikes for a while and he didnt understand how I could hold up against the wind all day. Thing is I don't fight it, I just rest in it. I personnaly found the buffeting from the FZ6 on my helmet way more fatiguing...Nothing I dont like about naked bikes.

Here are some better options, in my opinion.

This the one that I have -> Givi A287 Windscreen
Givi Yamaha Spoiler A287 | Cli-MAXRidingGear.com <- Good deal for $143

Another option is this -> YAMAHA FZ8 DARK SMOKE TINTED FLY SCREEN WIND SCREEN WINDSHIELD on eBay!
