2-Bros installed along with K&N air filter. The performance increase is moderate - nothing huge, but did remove most of the flat spot between 5-6k. Now it accelerates strong and smooth from 4k on up. The sound is awesome - NOW it sounds like it's supposed to!!! Running now with no DB Killer and it isn't outrageous - I think I could get away with it like this. I have the "P1 Powertip" that I'll put on and see how much that quiets it back down. The "P1" is supposed to quiet it by 3-4db they also sell a "P1X" that quiets it by 7-8db.

Got the 2-Bros from Tom @ Biohazardcycles - best price I found.

I'm definitely happy with the results - looks good, sounds good and some more power too. PC111 is next up when I have the $ for it.

The slip on is on

I put the Yoshimura r-77 stainless/stainless on yesterday, along with a fender eliminator kit.

I am running without the db killer installed, and have to say that it sounds great.

Gonna try to keep a low (er) profile around town.

i am having same question. i have called several dealers. some say you need the PC to make it run proper others sayyou don't. i guess the best answer is from you guys since we are the actual owners and daily riders.

considering this exhaust
exhaust YAMAHA FZ8 Double silencers ZY9388 IXRace 2010-2011

i figure i will get it and the k&n at same time. then the smog plates, pcV and the dyno.

Mental stability notwithstanding, what differentiates the road racer from his "short track" kin does lay somewhere between the ears!!

Calscrazy That Is A Cool Looking Pipe. Quite A Few Europeans Look To Be Running Those. Gotta Post Pics If You Get It. I'm Very Happy With The Two Brothers VALE. Got The Db Killer Have Not Installed Yet. As Long As I'm Not In It When A Cop Is Around, So Far, So Good. It Does Get Loud After 7 1/2 RPM. Nice Growl. It Does Back Fire On Cold Mornings If I Back Off The Throttle Real Quick. Runs Great Other Than That, And Getting Great Mileage.

I get the popping too when I shut down the throttle with the 2-Bros. It doesn't seem like a true "backfire" where it is coming back up through the air filter, it sounds like it is coming out the exhaust. Over on the "other" FZ8 forum they said it was from the the mix going lean when you rapidly shut down the throttle and wasn't harming anything - but a PC would put a stop to it.

What I can't seem to get a clear answer on is whether adding a PC will increase power or just smooth out throttle response. Anyone have the answer on that?

Anyone using the Yoshi R77d? It's their new one and looks sweet. Just wondering how it sounds. I don't think it comes with a baffle.

No need for a PC if you are just going to install a slip on exhaust and aftermarket filter, but if you are going to install a full system, than than that's a different story.
